Temple Beth-El Religious School is a lively, vibrant community of teachers and learners.   We educate students from pre-school through high school, often with opportunities for individualized attention.   Our curriculum goals are ambitious, serving as a guide for our faculty in planning each lesson with an eye for taking children where they are at the moment and leading them to a new level of knowledge of Jewish life.

Rabbi Larry Karol, who serves as director of education, has led schools in congregations of similar-size for 30 years. Our Faculty includes teachers with Jewish education and communal service degrees and NMSU students with experience working with children in Jewish camping and congregational education settings.

Our Religious School Committee is continuing to strengthen a partnership with the rabbi and faculty members as we strive to use all of the resources within our reach to challenge and enlighten students of all ages.

Religious School meets on Sunday mornings at 9:00 am until 12:00 Noon, which includes a music or worship session with Rabbi Karol and other sources of enrichment. Third through Seventh Graders meet again on Wednesdays at 4:45-6:00 pm to focus on Hebrew language skills.  We currently have four age groupings in our school that enable students to meet the objectives of our curriculum individually and with their peers closest in age.

Religious School families actively participate in our monthly Family Shabbat and family worship experiences for the Jewish holidays.
