“Eternal One, open my lips, that my mouth may declare your praise.”  This line from Psalm 51 epitomizes Jewish worship. Prayer offers an opportunity to express our innermost thoughts and feelings, whether through words that have been passed down to us or through our own silent meditation and contemplation.

While we are a Reform Congregation, members of Temple Beth-El come from diverse backgrounds covering a wide spectrum of Jewish belief and practice. Our worship is marked with traditional chants, familiar melodies and new and innovative compositions.  We maintain a balance between Hebrew and English and use the Mishkan T’filah prayerbook published by the Central Conference of American Rabbis as a basis for our worship.

Weekly Erev Shabbat (Friday night) worship begins at 6:30pm and includes a Torah service, a d’var Torah (words of teaching), weekly blessings for children and special occasion blessings for all. In addition, we celebrate First Fiesta Fridays on the first Shabbat of each month, with a family friendly kosher-style taco bar at 5:45pm, followed by a lively, music-filled service.

Shabbat morning worship begins at 10:30am each week and includes Torah, study and discussion.

For all who wish to join us in adding new voices to the chorus of those from the many generations that preceded us in “opening our lips” in prayer, we welcome your presence and participation!
